He drove away in humiliation, determined to get revenge.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"562\">A month later, he returned to the small West Virginia town with a stack of legal papers and a smug grin. He marched into the courthouse expecting an easy victory over the \u201cignorant hillbilly sheriff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"700\">But the sheriff arrived with dashcam footage, witness statements, and the town judge \u2014 who happened to be the sheriff\u2019s older brother.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"842\">The lawyer argued for nearly an hour, using fancy words nobody in the courtroom understood. Finally, he finished with a dramatic flourish.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"929\">The old judge adjusted his glasses and asked, \u201cSon, did you stop at the stop sign?\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"975\">The lawyer hesitated. \u201cWell\u2026 not exactly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1058\">The judge smiled. \u201cCase dismissed. And around here, we call that common sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1060\" data-end=\"1153\">The whole courtroom burst into laughter while the lawyer walked out red-faced and defeated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1300\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">As he reached his car, he noticed a brand-new stop sign at the courthouse exit.
