They tried to extort us for $10k… but forgot we still had the passwords! 😈📱 Sold our pristine home, then got a nasty demand letter. My husband’s petty revenge using the smart home app is pure GENIUS! 💡❄️🔊 Never mess with a tech-savvy seller! Would you have done the same? 👇

We recently sold our pristine smart home — professionally cleaned, carpet steamed, ductwork spotless. Our two pampered, house-trained dogs had never left a mess.

Three weeks later, we got a letter from the owner. “We’ve moved in, and… wow. I smell your stinky dogs!!! This is not the energy I envisioned. Total vibe killer. ANYWAY, WE EXPECT $10,000 COMPENSATION.”

I called our realtor in a rage. She nearly choked saying we didn’t owe them a dime and need to forget it.

But my husband had other plans. The house was smart and we still had app access, so he…

…decided to give them the “energy” they deserved.

Since they were so convinced there was a dog problem, he decided to help them out. At 3:00 AM sharp every night, he programmed the smart speakers in the master bedroom to play a loop of loud, aggressive barking sounds at max volume.

Then, he set the smart thermostat to “Arctic Tundra” mode every morning and “Sahara Desert” mode by dinner. Whenever they tried to fix it manually, he’d override it from his phone while we sat on our new couch laughing.

The final touch? He set the smart lights in the living room to strobe like a disco every time the TV was turned on.

Three days later, we got a frantic email. No demand for money this time. Just a desperate message asking if the house was “haunted” or “glitching” and begging for the admin codes to reset the system.

We told them we’d be happy to transfer full admin rights… immediately after they signed a document retracting their $10,000 demand and apologizing for the false accusations. They signed it within 10 minutes.

Funny enough, the “stinky dog smell” didn’t seem to bother them after that. Don’t mess with a tech-savvy seller!
