Luxury filled the elevator — but class walked out with her.

Three floors later, the old woman had reached her destination. As she exited the elevator, she paused for a brief second. The two younger women watched her from the corner of their eyes, expecting silence, maybe even embarrassment.

Instead, the old woman turned slightly toward them.

She smiled sweetly.

And then—

She let out a loud, unapologetic fart.

The elevator instantly filled with a very different kind of “scent.”

As the doors began to close, she looked back at the two stunned women and said calmly,

“Broccoli… 49 cents a pound.”

The doors shut.

Inside the elevator, the two young women stood frozen — their expensive perfumes no match for the reality that had just overpowered them. Their arrogance dissolved faster than their fragrance.

Meanwhile, the old woman walked down the hallway with dignity, her head held high and a quiet chuckle in her chest.

Because sometimes, no matter how expensive the perfume…

Life has a way of reminding everyone that we’re all human.
